One thing to try is ask yourself to find the answer to a question (one you do not already know the answer to) before going to bed and when you awake, write down the answer, if any which comes to you.
You should also try the following exercise: Take a photograph or other image and hold it face down – it's important that you have not seen the image beforehand. Focus on this image and try to see it in your mind's eye. You're not going to be able to do this right away, so be patient and keep trying. Eventually, you'll be able to build your remote viewing skills to the point where you can visualize the image.
